Brian C. Day was born in Lincolnshire and moved to Thornham, on the North Norfolk coast, in 1977 to start the Brian Day studio gallery and has painted professionally there for over 30 years. Predominantly a watercolour artist, Brian Day is in such sympathy with his environment that he is able to convey simultaneously fine detail together with the special atmosphere of the subject that exists in the area. His rural scenes have a timeless quality, despite the rapid changes to the countryside.
Over fourteen one-man exhibitions have been held in East Anglia, and his works have been displayed in mixed shows throughout England and Wales, and internationally in Canada and St Helier, Jersey.
Paintings have been purchased by Industry and International corporations – including the Trust House Forte Group – together with many private collectors at home and abroad.
In addition, a large number of paintings have been reproduced and distributed nationwide, as greeting cards by Natura Designs, Kingsmead Publications, Royle, Hallmark and Simon Elvin.
