I consider myself primarily as a photographer but I accept that my use of photoshop probably means I delve into the 'digital artist' camp too. I favour flowers and nature as subjects and using various photoshop techniques allows me to get closer to the essence of the subject, it's grace, transience and fragility.
My journey as an artist began when ill-health forced me to take voluntary redundancy from my job as a Business Development Manager. To keep my usually active mind busy I bought a camera and set about learning how to use it. Several years and cameras later, I arrived at the results I had been looking for in terms of being able to communicate what I saw and felt, rather than just record what was there. I have never looked back since buying that first camera.
